MERO CR statement on the current state of crude oil supply in the Czech Republic

6 December 2024

Supply of crude oil via the Druzhba pipeline to the Czech Republic has been resumed.

5 December 2024

MERO ČR is currently proceeding in accordance with the government decision of 4 December 2024. We are working on the technological preparation of the tanks at the Central Crude Oil Tank Farm so that, if necessary, it will be possible to release the part of the crude oil borrowed from the emergency stocks of the Administration of State Material Reserves for ORLEN Unipetrol.

We closely coordinate this process with our partners, i.e. both the Administration of State Material Reserves and ORLEN Unipetrol.

4 December 2024

MERO CR is aware of the complications regarding the supply of crude oil via the Druzhba pipeline to the Czech Republic and is monitoring the situation.

There is no threat to the crude oil supply to the Czech Republic. The Czech Republic is prepared for similar situations within the framework of the stocks of the Administration of State Material Reserves. Strategic stocks of crude oil and crude oil products are available to cover the functioning of the State for 90 days in the event of a short-term supply disruption. Supply via the western route, i.e. from the TAL and IKL pipelines, is running smoothly.
