On 31 July 2019, the General Director of the Fire and Rescue Service of the Czech Republic Maj. Gen. Drahoslav Ryba and members of the Board of Directors of MERO ČR, a.s. Jaroslav Kocián and Otakar Krejsa signed a collaboration agreement for the period 2019-2028. In relation to this, MERO ČR, a.s. will provide the Fire and Rescue Service of the Czech Republic with a donation in the form of equipment and material resources to the total value of more than 40 million CZK.
MERO ČR, a.s. performs activities with an increased and high fire risk, which are mainly related to the storage of large volumes of oil. MERO ČR, a.s. has a long-term collaboration with the Fire and Rescue Service of the Czech Republic in the field of fire protection and emergency preparedness in order to comply with all of the legal standards and obligations.
MERO ČR, a.s. acquired fire equipment and other material resources for fire protection units, which are intended for rescue and remedial work in the event of emergencies on the oil pipelines, and buildings and facilities of MERO ČR, a.s.
The obligation to provide fire equipment and material means of fire protection will be ensured in the future mainly through the provision of funds on the basis of the collaboration agreement, which was signed today by representatives of MERO ČR, a.s. and the Fire and Rescue Service of the Czech Republic for the period 2019-2028.
The existing equipment and material resources owned by MERO ČR, a.s., worth more than 40 million CZK, will be donated to the Fire and Rescue Service of the Czech Republic by a decision of the company’s management.

Thanks to its helpful and responsible approach, it will be possible to use the donated equipment not only for the needs of MERO ČR, a.s., but in case of extraordinary events this equipment will also help firefighters outside the building and facilities of MERO ČR, a.s.”, added Drahoslav Ryba, Director General of the Fire and Rescue Service of the Czech Republic.
