Determination of the maximum allowable operating pressure (MAOP) is a fundamental parameter for the subsequent phases of integrity management. Data from internal inspections of oil pipelines are mainly used to perform the necessary calculations. For example, the results of material tests on the pipe, which is cut directly from the oil pipeline, are also used. Advanced software tools are used for the necessary data integration, such as GIS (Geographic Information System) for the purpose of assessing the integrity of the pipeline in a given place, including the exact location of the necessary parameters in space.
