Integrated Management System Policy in the Area of Quality, Environment Protection, Information Safety, Occupational Health and Safety and Energy Management

MERO ČR, a.s. is the only oil pipeline operator in the Czech Republic. MERO Czech Republic joint-stock company transports crude oil by Druzhba and IKL pipelines and operates a central oil terminal for storage of state material oil reserves or oil owned by MERO customers.

MERO ČR, a.s., and its subsidiary MERO Germany GmbH, are companies trying to achieve maximum customer satisfaction. That is why they have decided to comply with all requirements of ISO 9001 as part of their integrated management systems.

MERO ČR, a.s., and its subsidiary MERO Germany GmbH, consider environment protection a natural part of all their business activities. To emphasize this approach both companies have implemented the Environmental Management System pursuant to ISO 14001.

MERO ČR, a.s. considers effective use of energy and improvement of energy efficiency a compulsory part of all activities. With regard to this priority both companies have implemented the Energy Management System pursuant to ISO 50001.

MERO ČR, a.s., and its subsidiary MERO Germany GmbH, understand the term information security as a process of information safeguarding on the level needed for assurance of confidentiality, accessibility and integrity of the information in compliance with applicable legislation and international standards. That is why both companies have decided to integrate requirements of EN ISO/IEC 27001 in their management systems as well.

MERO ČR, a.s., and its subsidiary MERO Germany GmbH, assure operation of critical information infrastructur, having implemented all organisational and technical measures required for that purpose.

MERO ČR, a.s., and its subsidiary MERO Germany GmbH, make maximum effort to protect health and occupational safety of their employees by providing safe and healthy working conditions and prioritising occupational injury and disease prevention. The company management further agree to communicate with representatives of Trade Unions and employee representatives about OHS issues. That is why MERO ČR, a.s. has decided to also integrate in its management system the relevant requirements of ISO 45001. The same attention is paid to safety in the surroundings of the company equipment in the context of prevention of major accidents and protection of critical infrastructure following from Act no 224/2015 Coll., on the prevention of major accidents in the handling of selected hazardous chemical substances or mixtures, amending Act no 634/2004 Coll., on administrative charges (Major Accident Prevention Act), as amended, or Council Directive 96/82/EC on the control of major-accident hazards involving dangerous substances, as amended, and Act no 240/2000 Coll., on crisis management, amending certain other acts (Crisis Management Act), as amended.


That is why MERO ČR, a.s. represents that:

  1. Customer satisfaction is the absolute priority in all company activities.
  2. Continuous compliance with the applicable binding requirements for quality, environment protection in the Czech Republic/Federal Republic of Germany, as well as occupational health and safety requirements, requirements for information security and energy management, are considered the minimum standard that goes without saying.
  3. Company activities focus on improvement of prevention in relation to negative environmental impact and accident prevention; the company will use the optimum available technical and organisational measures for prevention of damage to the environment, health of the company employees and of the general public.

By elimination of dangers, and mitigation of risks by available technical and organisational measures, the company will prevent occurrence of incidents, nonconformities, disasters, information security breaches and compromising of critical infrastructure element security; by assurance of effective prevention and quick and correct response the company will strive to minimise potential consequences should an accident happen. The company has set a continual process in the area of information security focusing on implementation of adequate safety measures for control of indentified risks. In the context of this process the company also tries to detect all security weak points and information security breaches.
  5. The company will pay maximum attention to effective use of energy sources and improvement of energy economy in all its processes; in compliance with this commitment the company will support purchases of energy-efficient products and services with effect on energy saving.
  6. The company will educate and motivate all its employees and partners to accept principles of this policy and the related objectives as the goals of their own efforts and will keep them informed about changes of and approaches to implementation of this integrated management system policy. MERO ČR, a.s. hereby declares its effort to keep secure all relevant business and personal information of the company, its customers, suppliers and other contracting and third parties.
  7. The company implements measures for optimum use of resources in all areas of activity, including maintenance, emergency preparedness, energy management, information protection, critical infrastructure protection, and health and environment care.
  8. The company will periodically test and assess its IMS against the specified measurable objectives, having allocated competences and resources for this purpose. By periodic internal audits and management reviews of IMS the company monitors the achieved level of quality, environment protection, OHS, information security and compliance with energy saving requirements.
