Integrated Management System (IMS) Policy in Quality, Environment Protection, Information Security, Occupational Health and Safety and Energy Management

MERO ČR, a.s., is the only oil pipeline management company in the Czech Republic. The company operates Druzhba and IKL oil pipelines and a central oil tank facility for storage of state oil reserves or oil reserves of the company customers.

MERO ČR, a.s., and its subsidiary, MERO Germany GmbH, strive at maximum satisfaction of their customers. That is the reason why they decided to meet all requirements of ISO 9001 by their corporate integrated management systems.

MERO ČR, a.s., and its subsidiary, MERO Germany GmbH, consider environment protection an integral part of all their business activities. To underline this corporate approach they have introduced an environmental management system (EMS) pursuant to ISO 14001 standard.

MERO ČR, a.s., and its subsidiary, MERO Germany GmbH, understand information security as a process of information protection on the required level with regard to its confidentiality, accessibility and integrity in compliance with international standards and applicable legislation. That is why MERO ČR, a.s., has also integrated requirements of ISO/IEC 27001 standard in its integrated management system.

MERO ČR, a.s., and its subsidiary, MERO Germany GmbH, manage operations of three critical information infrastructures in the sense of Act no 181/2014 Coll., on Cyber Security, amending certain elated acts (Cyber Security Act), as amended. Therefore, in compliance with the act, the company has engaged in stepwise implementation of all organisational and technical measures required by this act and its related executive decrees.

The publication of its IMS policy, with related objectives in the area of information security, MERO ČR, a.s. declares efforts to secure all relevant business and personal information of the company, its customers, suppliers and other third-party contractors.

In the effort to identify and control information security related risks MERO ČR, a.s. is exposed to, a continual process has been introduced by which the identified risks are controlled by implementation and adequate security information. In the context of this process all security weak points information security breaks are indentified and investigated.

MERO ČR, a.s., through periodic audits and reviews, monitors the information security level, evaluates effectiveness of the implemented measures and continuously improves its information security management system by a sophisticated set of remedial and preventive measures.

On the basis of the requirement for assurance of accessibility, confidentiality and integrity of information, MERO ČR, a.s. has established a Security Forum as the top management authority for information security control in the context of IMS pursuant to ČSN ISO/IEC 27001:2014.

MERO ČR, a.s., and its subsidiary, MERO Germany GmbH, pay maximum attention to occupational safety and health protection of their employees. The same attention is paid to safety of the environment of their equipment in the context of major accident prevention and critical infrastructure protection. That is why the companies have decided to also integrate this part of their activities in their management systems by meeting the requirements of BS OHSAS 18001, Act no. 224/2015 Coll., on prevention of major accidents caused by selected hazardous chemical substances or mixtures, amending Act no 634/2004 Coll., on administrative charges, as amended (Major Accident Prevention Act), as amended, or Council Directive 96/82/EC on the Control of Major Accident Hazards Involving Dangerous Substances, as amended, and Act no 240/2000 Coll., on Crisis Management amending certain other acts (Crisis Management Act), as amended.

MERO ČR, a.s., considers effective use of energy and reduction of energy demand as the necessary part of all its activities. With regard to this priority an energy management system has been introduced pursuant to ISO 50001 standard.

That is why MERO ČR, a.s., claims that:

  1. Customer satisfaction is the top priority in all its activities.
  2. Continuous compliance with the relevant binding requirements for quality, environment protection in the Czech Republic, or in Germany as well as for occupational health and safety, information security and energy management, is considered an obvious and minimum standard.
  3. Activities focus on improvement of prevention in relation to negative environmental impact and accident prevention; the company is going to use optimum, available technical and organisational means for prevention of damage to the environment, employee and public health.

  9. The company implements measures for optimum utilisation of resources for all areas of activity, including but not limited to maintenance, emergency preparedness, information protection, protection of critical infrastructure elements, environment and health protection.
  10. The company supports continuous improvement of management systems in the sense of achievement of business excellence in all areas of its activity and in all management areas.
